Tetris—yes, the game you and me played when we were kids—just celebrated its 25th birthday two days ago (2nd June).
Tetris has been such a nostalgic, entertaining, and challenging game to me that I even looked for and downloaded the game into my current laptop (but jarang main), into the previous PC I used (where I played it a lot, but that was more than a year ago), as a plug-in when I used Opera (though that was a different Tetris) as well as into my SE phone (I occasionally play it, but I remember playing it a lot during last year’s Raya).
So you get how I actually enjoy the game when I do play it. I like playing Tetris so that I’ve come to think that it could be in my blood, or in less exaggerating terms, that I might have been exposed to the game a lot as a kid; I remember (or maybe I dreamt) that my dad played it a lot when I was little, that it might have been his favourite game (back when he was younger and when there weren’t as many games as there are now).
I just enjoy the thrill, of moving, controlling, placing quickly (and quickly-er) falling tetriminoes, and the winning feeling I get the many times I beat my own score (practice makes perfect?).
Anyway, I came across TetrisFriends which is still in BETA. Don’t expect the classic Tetris (the one without the ghost piece, the hold queue, etc.), but expect the classic Tetris music.

I hope NO ONE notices that I only uploaded the above screenshot because I simply wanted to boast and to just show off my satisfying but not satisfying enough high score which is like in the 80% percentile rank based on score and I’m so proud of it and I really hope no one notices that.
To be honest (and maybe just a little humble) though, the highest score I’ve seen, for the Marathon mode that I’m playing, is like some 900k+… O.o So even though I’m at 80%, I guess I’m only in the Good-Great sample size, not Great-Excellent, or Excellent-Uber, or Uber-GODLIKE.
But then again, maybe I’m just under the illusion that Tetris isn’t as easy as it looks like. Maybe it’s just the proud, self-centred me.
And I should at least make it to Level 15, which I’m yet to get to. T_T That’s assuming I don’t get tired of the game after playing it excessively, in a few days time.
